March 2025 | Service Manager at Cardiff’s Seibiant Sanctuary, Katie Mills, is undertaking two major sporting challenges this year to raise vital funds for Platfform’s mental health crisis team, enabling people to access out of hours support in person.

These policy decisions do not create the circumstances for people to have good mental health, and instead risk trapping people in poverty and distress.

Mental health will always require more than just one day – it’s at the root of our lives, our communities and our world. But today is a good chance to highlight workplace wellbeing – we spend much of our time at work, so what happens there matters.  

We’re pleased to see commitments to mental health in the King’s Speech, in particular reform of the Mental Health Act to reduce restrictive practice and give greater voice to people accessing support. But mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum. What still needs to change?
