Therapeutic alternatives to hospital

We run Wales’ only therapeutic alternatives to hospital for people who are experiencing a crisis.

Ty Cynnal Support House

We have a brand new project that is shortly being launched in Bettws, Newport and would love to hear from you if our values resonate with you and you would like the opportunity to be part of our exciting journey and our enthusiastic team.

Ty Cynnal is our newly commissioned project by the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The project will offer a short-term therapeutic alternative to hospital for people experiencing distress or crisis. We will offer a safe and supportive environment that is responsive to people’s needs and to alleviate distress.

The support house will provide a space for people to work alongside staff members to determine what support they need, and allow the opportunity to connect, take time out and be heard. Guests might choose to stay for a few hours or several days and the focus throughout their time in the house will be on creating a safe, relaxing environment and listening to the person’s story, their needs and their longer-term hopes and goals beyond their stay with us.

Linden House, Cardiff

Linden House is based in Cardiff and open to residents of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.  It is Wales’ only therapeutic alternative to hospital for people who are experiencing distress or crisis.

The service offers a safe and supportive environment that is responsive to people’s needs and aids recovery.

Linden House is funded by Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board and referrals can only be made through: Cardiff and the Vale Crisis Team.

For more information about the house, get in touch.

I never knew that there were people who cared until I stayed at Linden House. The staff were so supportive. If I needed anything they were there, even just for a chat. Without the help and support I’m not sure where I would be now
This is an excellent service. Just a shame there aren’t more of these houses. It’s better than being in hospital. Things became more positive at Linden House. I didn’t feel that in hospital.
