Introducing Lifft: a new name, and a boost for mental health support

Lifft team

Today marks an important moment: our social enterprise cleaning company has a new name – Lifft.

Previously known as APP-UK, this rebrand aims to demonstrate how high-quality commercial services can directly support better mental health for people and communities.

Much more than a cleaning company

Lifft delivers professional, reliable cleaning and support services to organisations across Wales and the south of England. On the surface, it looks as though it operates just like any other commercial provider – efficient, professional, cost-effective, and committed to high standards.

But it delivers a lot more than that.

Lifft is wholly owned by Platfform. Every contract helps fund the mental health support Platfform delivers.

That means that when organisations choose Lifft, they’re helping to create access routes into mental health support for their staff, their communities, and beyond.

The partnership between Platfform and Lifft represents a business model where commercial success and social impact go hand in hand.

A model that works for people and organisations

Demand for mental health support continues to grow. At the same time, many organisations are looking for meaningful ways to support the wellbeing of their workforces and communities.

Lifft brings these two aspects together.

Through Lifft’s services, clients can also access:

  • Routes into mental support for employees
  • Wellbeing programmes and training
  • Opportunities to fund early intervention and community outreach

This creates a practical, immediate way for organisations to invest in wellbeing as part of everyday operations.

As Lifft co-supervisor Serena puts it:

“We operate to a high standard… and we’re always willing to go the extra mile.

I feel proud to work for Lifft. It’s a bit special to work for a cleaning company that is owned by a mental health charity. Mental health is a big thing. We all have worries, and feel stress. It’s good to be able to remind our staff that they can get support. Not many companies offer that. You never know when you’re going to need it, but it’s there if you do.

Fair work, stronger communities

Beyond exceptional cleaning services and widening mental health support, Lifft’s social value impact spans fair, stable employment in the communities it serves, including:

  • Local jobs
  • Fair pay and conditions
  • No zero-hour contracts
  • No agency staffing

This approach helps people return to work, strengthens local economies, and ensures that investment stays within communities as part of the circular economy.

Why the rebrand matters

The new name emphasises the close relationship between Platfform and Lifft. It’s about clarity and confidence.

As Matt Cole, Deputy CEO of Platfform, explains:

“Now feels like the perfect time to strengthen the connection between Platfform and Lifft. We want to show how this connection benefits both organisations, as well as our clients and communities.

We exist to create a society where everyone has the conditions for good mental health, and where support is accessible, compassionate and close to home.

The new name helps demonstrate that every contract, every service, and every partnership contributes to something bigger.

A different kind of commercial partner

Lifft’s Managing Director, Sean Richards, said:

Lifft delivers the same high-quality professional standards as any commercial cleaning company, but we’re far from average.

Through our relationship with Platfform, a contract with Lifft opens access to mental health support and generates social impact for communities and businesses across Wales and the UK. Clients are already seeing the difference. From creating local jobs to supporting employees with early mental health interventions, Lifft’s model shows how everyday business decisions can have lasting social impact.

Building a future where business does more

Social enterprises like Lifft demonstrate that business can be a force for good, supporting people, strengthening communities, and contributing to a stable and sustainable future.

By choosing Lifft, organisations can tap into that social value, and invest in wellbeing, resilience, and positive change. Welcome to Lifft.
