A division of global vehicle rental company, Enterprise, has donated £2,500 to Platfform, mental health and social justice charity, to invest in their wellbeing workshops, supporting people in Gilfach Bargoed’s local community.

Kevin Thomas, Depot Manager for Flex-e-Rent’s South Wales division, commented that their company had enjoyed an excellent relationship with Platfform’s Employment Team in Gwent for many years and they wanted to continue to support the team’s valuable work. Kevin highlighted how impressed they were with the sheer amount of wellbeing events and projects that the Gwent Platfform team has organised or attended, which amounted to 165 during 2025.

Enterprise is a traditional family-run organisation, with its global headquarters based in the USA, and operations include several high profile divisions and brands such as Alamo, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, and National Car Rental. The company employs people in over 90 countries and is driven by a set of values that very much align with those of Platfform, directly supporting the communities in which they operate.

Their strong set of ethics include supporting community projects, and allowing employees paid time out to take part in volunteering activities throughout the year. Kevin’s team has already previously been involved in volunteering opportunities at the Taraggan allotment in Bargoed, amongst other community projects, reinforcing their dedication to giving something back and creating meaningful connections.

As part of their ongoing commitment to the Bargoed Community Centre, Kevin confirmed that the division, Enterprise Mobility, was keen to continue to support their wellbeing activities and were donating £2,500 from their charity foundation.

Julie Rees, Head of Employability Services at Platfform, noted that the very generous donation would be ploughed back into the ever-growing list of workshops that keep people connected such as Creative Journaling, African Drumming, Gong Baths and Confidence Building.

Kevin commented: “It’s great to hear the wonderful activities that go on in your community and always nice to hear how the foundation grant is being utilised and the support it gives the people in the area.”
