This is a service delivered from our NewLink Wales office in Bridgend.
We provide a specialist service on Monday afternoons for young people under the age of 18. It’s a space for young people to come and discuss their worries or concerns about their own or someone else’s substance use. We also provide education sessions on drugs, alcohol and sexual health.
If they’re is in need of further interventions, referrals can be made for structured play therapy, or counselling services.

The YES Project
The YES (Youth Empowerment Service) is delivered in Bridgend. YES aims to raise awareness, provide information, and give support to people aged 6-18 who are affected by someone else’s use of drugs or alcohol.
YES aims to reduced second-generation substance misuse, engage young people in activities within their communities and schools, and to help them improve their ability to deal with their emotions.
The service is confidential – this is to alleviate the isolation that young people can fear they will suffer if they share their difficulties, a fear which can prevent them from opening up, even to other people in similar situations.
The YES service is funded by Children in Need.
