Young people and mental health

We work with young people using a combination of peer support and workshops to develop skills and strategies to promote wellbeing.

Our projects work to establish peer support groups and deliver workshops that provide information about ways to support mental health and wellbeing.

StateofMind is a Wales-wide project that works with young people between the ages of 17 and 25. The project works with groups of young people and also offers the opportunity for participants to become peer mentors, with accredited training and certification to support this. Helping others can be highly therapeutic and a good way for you to to add to your knowledge base whilst knowing that they you’remaking a difference to a fellow participant’s wellbeing.

The project works with participants to develop skills and strategies for confidence and self-esteem, and improve mental health and wellbeing. Organised groups also offer an opportunity to connect with peers and share experiences. 4YP also promotes opportunities for young people to become Recovery Champions and Volunteer Support Workers.
