Young people and mental health

We work with young people using a combination of peer support and workshops to develop skills and strategies to promote wellbeing.

State of Mind

State of Mind is a Wales-wide project that works with young people between the ages of 17 and 25.

Our project for young people works to establish peer support groups, deliver courses and workshops teaching ways to support mental health and wellbeing, 1:1 support when needed and volunteering opportunities.

The project also offers participants the opportunity to become peer mentors, with accredited training. We’ve learnt that peer support is a powerful tool for wellbeing; helping others can help you to feel well, all whilst meeting people who face similar experiences and developing your skills.

We works across five local authority areas in Gwent offering support to young people between the ages of 14 and 18.

4YP is a project for young people to develop skills and strategies for confidence and self-esteem, and to improve mental health and wellbeing. Our organised groups offer an opportunity to connect with peers and share experiences. 4YP also promotes opportunities for young people to become Recovery Champions and Volunteer Support Workers.
