Why The Hangout?
An exciting approach to mental health, a chance to directly make a difference, and the usual benefits of joining Team Platfform.
Started in Cardiff, and heading to the Vale, The Hangout is Platfform’s answer to the question “what if a young person needs mental health support without a waiting list – or simply somewhere safe to exist for a few hours?”
The Hangout does exactly that. It’s a walk-in hub for young people to find help, spend time, connect with others, or just spend some time away from difficult things in their lives.
By joining the team at our Vale hangout, you’ll be part of this innovative approach to mental health, and you’ll be directly improving the futures of the young people we work with. You’ll also be joining the wider Team Platfform, with benefits like above average annual leave allowance and access to mental health support. Learn more about all that stuff here

We have outgrown the story that people having a tough time with their mental health are just experiencing the fate of biology, genetic potluck and lacking ‘personal resilience’. If we understand that distress and mental health is not rooted in disease and pathology then it makes no sense to construct our understanding from this starting point.
